Y=660x+600x
where y is distance apart and x is time

2000=660x+600x
2000=x(660+600)
2000=x(1260)
2000/1260=x
1.587h= 1 hour and 25 minutes
at 1:25PM the plane will be 2000 miles apart

Answer:

At 1:53 pm They will be 2,000 miles apart

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :The eastbound plane flies at 660 mph and the westbound plane flies at 600 mph

To Find : At what time will they be 2,000 miles apart?

Solution :

The eastbound plane flies at 660 mph

Suppose after time t they will be  2,000 miles apart

So, distance traveled at this time by eastbound = Distance = Speed * time

Distance = 660t

The westbound plane flies at 600 mph

Suppose after time t they will be  2,000 miles apart

So, distance traveled at this time by west bound = Distance = Speed * time

Distance = 600t

So, to calculate t time at which they will be 2000 miles apart

2000=(660+600)t

2000=1260t

\frac{2000}{1260} =t

1.58=t

Since 1 hr = 60 minutes

So, 0.58 hours = 0.58*60 = 34.8 minutes

Thus after 1 hour 34 minutes they will be 2000 miles apart

Since they start at 12 noon

So, after 1 hour 53 minutes time will be 1:53 pm

Hence At 1:53 pm They will be 2,000 miles apart

The sum of the angle measures of a triangle is 180°. Find the value of x. Then find the angle measures of the triangle.
MAXImum [283]

Answer:

  • x = 43
  • 43°, 51°, 86°

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of the angles is ...

  x° + (x +8)° + 2x° = 180°

  4x +8 = 180 . . . . . . . . . . . collect terms, divide by °

  x +2 = 45 . . . . . . . . . . divide by 4

  x = 43 . . . . . . . . . . subtract 2

  x +8 = 51

  2x = 86

The angles are 43°, 51°, 86°.
