You should be sad, but you should choose to be sad in a way that benefits you. You should also choose to be happy. Then you start to realize you have been abiding by a subjective view of the world this entire time, you just weren't really aware of it, or that it was too emotionally difficult to choose to feel anything other than what you felt was natural or expected. Eventually, you will realize that things and events don't necessitate any one kind of a reaction, and honestly, nothing requires a reaction at all. If you have to react, wouldn't you rather be an active participant in how you feel about it? Otherwise, you are just a slave to your circumstances.
