Adjective. The definition of appositive refers to two nouns or noun phrases that are together in a sentence and each one gives more information about the other. In the sentence “I am waiting for my friend Beth” the phrase “my friend” is an appositive phrase to “Beth” and “Beth” is an appositive noun to “my friend”.

Montag was never truly passionate about his job, but he did just want to do it as a firefighter. But once he saw the lady who loved her books, he started switching opinions on books, his job and society. The audience knows this because of his inner thoughts he is having during the events and after them. Many people do that today, they have a job they don't have passion for but like it because they are getting paid because of it, so they don't really mind it

What is the speaker telling the Grecian urn in these lines from “Ode on a Grecian Urn”?
elena55 [62]
The correct answer is the second one. In John Keats' "Ode on a Grecian Urn", the speaker knows the urn will still be around for others to see after he is dead. In the final lines of the poem, he says "When old age shall this generation waste / Thou shalt remain [...] a friend to man", which goes to show that the urn will outlive the speaker's own generation and remain a testimony of beauty for centuries to come.
