son4ous [18]

The answer is (A. A warm current flows along the coast.) Currents carry cold and warm water from place to place. It's an amazing phenomenon that scientists are still trying to fully figure out.  Some think it's caused by wind, others think it's caused by the shifting of the tectonic plates, but one thing's for sure, currents are VITAL for this planets life.

A crop is treated with a pesticide and 98% of the insects are killed. what will most likely happen to the remaining insects?
Marina CMI [18]

The 2% of the insects will begin to reproduce and grow their population exponentially and in time enable the population to recover. This is if the population is large enough to enable random mating. The 98% reduction in population drastically reduces competition for the remaining individuals hence giving them abundant resources for them to thrive.

In which location would the rate of soil erosion most likely be higher than the rate of soil formation?
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

C. A steep slope

Explanation:

Erosion is the removal of the top layer of the earth or the gathering of lose weathered materials from rock surfaces.

Agents of erosion are wind, water, glacier and gravity.

Along a very steep slope, erosion is highly rife and very prevalent to the extent that everything there is washed away to be deposited at the bottom of the slope or where gradient is more gentle.

On a steep slope, materials moves rapidly and gravity is very great. When these factors are coupled with the prevailing conditions in a place, little to no deposition occurs for soil formation.

When earth completes a full rotation, how much time has elapsed?
DIA [1.3K]

The answer is; 24 hours.

Scientists called the full rotation of the earth a day and divided it into 24 hours on the clock. This means from sunrise to next sunrise. They also divided the earth into latitudes that indicate time zones. When one point on earth rotates and return to the same position in space, it has lapsed 24 hours.
