lidiya [134]
2x+4y=0
3x+y=10
So what we want to do is get y onto one side by itself using whatever equation you like.
So I'm taking 2x+4y=0 and subtracting 4y from both sides
So we end up with
2x=4y
Divide both sides by four
2/4x is 1/2 x
So we get 1/2x=y
Take this and plug it into the other equation
3x+y=10
3x+1/2x=10
Add your like terms
3 1/2x=10
Putting 3 1/2 as a mixed number we get 7/2
So..
7/2x=10
Multiply by the opposite of 7/2 on both sides
Which is 2/7 this will cancel out the left side.
So we end up with
X= 10•2/7
X=20/7
Which is 2 and 6/7 as a mixed number.

You are given a circle of radius 12. What is the segment area of an arc that is 90 degrees?
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

36π - 72 sq in.

Step-by-step explanation:

π×12² = 144π

90/360 × 144π = 36π

Triangle = ½ × 12 × 12 = 72

Segment = 36π - 72

Question 2(Multiple Choice Worth 1 points)
Tomtit [17]

The sequence is " Algebraic, common difference = −10 " ⇒ 1st answer

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us revise the algebraic and geometric sequences

  • The Algebraic sequence is the sequence that has a common difference between each two consecutive terms, like 2 , 5 , 8 , 11 , 14 , .......... the difference between the 5 and 2 is equal to the difference between 8 and 5, and the difference between 11 and 8 and the difference between 14 and 11
  • The geometric sequences is the sequence that has a common ratio between each two consecutive terms, like 3 , -9 , 27 , -81 , ...... the ratio between -9 and 3 as the ratio between 27 and -9 as the ratio between -81 and 27

→  x   :    1    :    2    :    3    :    4

→ f(x) :    5   :   -5    :    -15  :    -25

x represents the positions of the terms

f(x) represents the value of each term

∵ 1st = 5 and 2nd = -5

∵ -5 - 5 = -10

∵ 2nd = -5 and 3rd = -15

∵ -15 - (-5) = -15 + 5 = -10

∵ 3rd = -15 and 4th = -25

∵ -25 - (-15) = -25 + 15 = -10

∴ There is a common difference -10 between each two

   consecutive terms

∴ The sequence is algebraic with common difference -10

The sequence is " Algebraic, common difference = −10 "
