Answer:

Tetraploid

Explanation:

Ploidy:

Ploidy is a biological term used for the presence of number of chromosome sets in a cell. Cells can be haploid (gametes), diploid (two chromosomal sets) and polyploid (more than two chromosomal sets).

Polyploidy:

A condition that entails the possession of more than two sets of chromosomes in the cell. Normal cells are diploid (2n) i.e they contain two sets of chromosomes, one from each parents. Polyploid individuals contain three (triploid, 3n), four (tetraploid, 4n), five (pentaploid, 5n) number of chromosomes and so on.

Under normal disjunction of chromosomes, a tetraploid cell will produce two diploid daughter cells each with two sets of chromosomes.

However, in the case of non-disjunction of all chromosomes in a tetraploid individual, two tetraploid daughter cells will be produced at the end of meiosis 1.

Non-disjunction of all chromosomes means that one daughter cell has received all 4 sets of chromosomes while the other is null i.e. contains zero chromosomal sets.

Which genes would a crop scientist most likely insert into a crop to protect it from droughts and insects?
Aleonysh [2.5K]
Commonly, genes from bacteria are inserted into a crop's chromosomes to produce pesticide substances to kill insects

For drought, I'm not fully sure, but Maize is a very drought resistant crop often introduced to communities which receive little rainfall. Maybe they take a gene from the maize crop and insert it into the chromosomes

The rate of a physical or chemical process
Nady [450]

Answer:

(A) rate=

Sp

Ss

st

Explanation:

The rate of chemical is a measure of the speed of a chemical reaction.

The measurement of the reaction rate is based on the disappearance of a reactant or appearance of a product with increasing reaction time.

Reaction rate is usually expressed in terms of a change in concentration of the chosen reactant or product per unit of time.

During a reaction, the concentration of the reactant decreases exponentially with time while that of a product increases exponentially with time.

Reaction rate  = \frac{change  in concentration of a reactant/product}{Time taken}
