Read the passage and identify the method being used. Crude oil is a mixture of many liquids that must be separated into pure sub

stances before we can use them. To do so, the entire mixture of liquids is heated in a furnace to 400 degrees Celsius, which is enough to evaporate all of the liquids. Then the mixed vapor is allowed to rise. As the vapor rises, it cools. When it reaches 370 degrees Celsius, fuel oil condenses from the vapor and runs down a channel to be collected as a pure substance. However, the other vapors will continue to rise and cool. Because the different substances in crude oil have different boiling points, each substance can be individually collected in the same way as fuel oil. Where once we had a mixture of liquids, after condensing the various vapors, we have four different pure substances. Which separation method is being used here?

Type of nucleic acid

Strandness of type of nucleic acid (positive /negative)

colony growth characteristics

Hosts infected

Capsid shape

Disease symptoms

presence or absence of envelop

presence or absence of capsid shape

Explanation:

The characteristics that can be utilized when classifying/categorizing viruses are :

Type of nucleic acid

Strandness of type of nucleic acid (positive /negative)

colony growth characteristics

Hosts infected

Capsid shape

Disease symptoms

presence or absence of envelop

presence or absence of capsid shape

The Remaining two categories i.e Gram stain category and fermentation of different sugars cannot be used to classify or categorize viruses but they can be applied for the categorization of Bacteria

What’s vegetative reproduction (biology)

give description and example.
Virty [35]

Vegetative reproduction is a mode of asexual reproduction naturally occurring in plants. In this process. only one of the parent is involved and the offspring is genetically identical to the parent and no sharing of DNA takes place.

Examples are: Onion, rhizome (ginger) and daffodil

Explanation:

There are meristem tissues found in the stem, root and leaves. These are undifferentiated cells and have tendency of dividing. This tissue gives rise to organs of the plant and responsible for its growth.

Natural vegetative propagation happens when an axillary bud grows into a lateral shoot and develops adventitious roots consequently forming a new plant.

Vegetative propagation can be done artificially also.

Identify one animal cell structure involved in bringing nutrients and materials into the cell and explain how that structure per
BigorU [14]

Answer:

cell membrane

mitochondria

lysosomes

ribosomes

Explanation:

Cell membrane is the boundary of animal cell which is responsible for the intake of nutrients from outside environment of the cell. Cell membrane is a semipermeable membrane which take nutrient through a process of diffusion and active transport. Mitochondria is also called power house of the cell in which glucose molecule is broken down and energy is released. Lysosomes is an important organelle of the cell which is responsible for the collecting and removal of waste material from the cell through cell membrane. Ribosomes helps in the production of proteins and enzymes needed by the cell for different activities.
