Here BD is perpendicular bisector

So

  • UB=BV=74

\\ \tt\hookrightarrow UV=74+74=148

Apply Pythagorean theorem

\\ \tt\hookrightarrow BD^2=UD^2-UB^2=UD^2-VD^2

  • UD=VD=78=TD

\\ \tt\hookrightarrow TC^2=TD^2-CD^2

\\ \tt\hookrightarrow TC^2=78^2-30^2

\\ \tt\hookrightarrow TC^2=6084-900=5184

\\ \tt\hookrightarrow TC=72

A place kicker in pro football has a 77% probability of making a field goal over 40 yards, and each attempted field goal is inde
Mice21 [21]

The probability that the team will win the sport is 77%.

Given that an area kicker in pro football incorporates a 77% probability of creating a field goal over 40 yards and every attempt field goal is independent.

Probability is how something is likely to happen. The probability of a happening is calculated by the probability formula by simply dividing the favorable number of outcomes by the overall number of possible outcomes.

So, his team will win the sport if he makes a goal otherwise loses.

Therefore, the Probability that his team will win the sport P[E] =P[making a field goal]

P[E]=77%

Hence, the probability that the team will win the sport when making a field goal is 77%.

Amir pits £3035 into a bank account. The account pays 4% compound interest each year. Work out how much money amir will have in
myrzilka [38]

Answer:

\£3840.2

Step-by-step explanation:

Let P denotes principal amount, T denotes time period and R denotes rate of interest.

Amount = P(1+\frac{R}{100})^T

Amir pits £3035 into a bank account. The account pays 4% compound interest each year.

Put P=\£3035,\,R=4\%,\,T=6

Amount = 3035(1+\frac{4}{100})^6=3035(\frac{104}{100})^6=\£3840.2

Therefore, Amir will have \£3840.2 in the account after 6 years.

I need explanations for Mathematical Proofs.
erma4kov [3.2K]

Answer:

Proofs employ logic expressed in mathematical symbols, along with natural language which usually admits some ambiguity. In most mathematical literature, proofs are written in terms of rigorous informal logic.

According to Bleiler-Baxter & Pair [22], for a mathematician, a proof serves to convince or justify that a certain statement is true. But it also helps to increase the understanding of the result and the related concepts. That is why a proof also has the role of explanation.

There are many different ways to go about proving something, we'll discuss 3 methods: direct proof, proof by contradiction, proof by induction. We'll talk about what each of these proofs are, when and how they're used. Before diving in, we'll need to explain some terminology.

Although I will focus on proofs in mathematical education per the topic of the question, first and foremost proofs are so hard because they involve taking a hypothesis and attempting to prove or disprove it by finding a counterexample. There are many such hypotheses that have (had) serious monetary rewards available.

In logic and mathematics, a formal proof or derivation is a finite sequence of sentences (called well-formed formulas in the case of a formal language), each of which is an axiom, an assumption, or follows from the preceding sentences in the sequence by a rule of inference.

All mathematicians in the study considered proofs valuable for students because they offer students new methods, important concepts and exercise in logical reasoning needed in problem solving. The study shows that some mathematicians consider proving and problem solving almost as the same kind of activities.
