First we find the mean (or the average)...
average : (82 + 76 + 93 + 82 + 73 + 80 / 6) = 486/6 = 81

now we subtract the average from every data point.....then square the result
82 - 81 = 1.......1^2 = 1
76 - 81 = -5....-5^2 = 25
93 - 81 = 12....12^2 = 144
82 - 81 = 1.......1^2 = 1
73 - 81 = -8.....-8^2 = 64
80 - 81 = -1.....-1^2 = 1

now we find the mean (or average) of those numbers
(1 + 25 + 144 + 1 + 64 + 1) / 6 = 236/6 = 39.33

that is ur variance....to find the standard deviation, take the square root of ur variance.....

square root 39.33 = 6.27 <==

What is the equation, in slope-intercept form, of the line with a slope of -1/3 and y-intercept of (0, 9)? Choices in picture be
Pie

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula is<em> y=mx+b</em>, with <em>m</em> representing the slope, <em>x</em> representing the <em>x </em>coordinate, and<em> b</em> representing the y-intercept. Since -⅓ is the slope, that means that the equation starts off as y=-⅓. We know that the y-intercept is where the line meets the y-axis, so the y-intercept is 9. Since 9 (the y-intercept) is being added, that means the equation is y=-⅓+9.

Answer:

y=-⅓+9

What is the focus of the parabola
Blizzard [7]

Answer:

(-4,1)

Step-by-step explanation:

The given parabola is

y = - \frac{1}{4} {x}^{2} - 2x - 2

When we rewrite in vertex form, we get;

y = - \frac{1}{4} {(x + 4)}^{2}  + 2

Or

{(x + 4)}^{2}   = - 4( y - 2)

When we compare to:

{(x  - h)}^{2}   = 4p( y - k)

We have 4p=-4

This means p=-1

But the vertex is at:

(-4,2)

Since it is a vertical parabola that opens down, the focus is one unit(|p|=1) below the vertex.

Hence the focus is (-4,1)

Find the square inches
Alisiya [41]

Answer:

16 square inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

Split the shape into a rectangle and square. To solve for square, just mulitple the 2 sides (2 x 2) and you get an area of 4. To solve for the rectangle, you can multiple the 6 and 2 to get the area of 12. Add the 4 and 12 together and you get 16 square inches. Hope this helps!
