How does pericles characterize his fellow athenians and their contributions to the city's glory?
Novosadov [1.4K]
He notes that they are known for fighting for what is right and just: he mentions that the talents and abilities that Athenians possess are integral in the city maintaining its well-regarded state. In addition, he notes that fighting (and dying) for the city's honor confers that positive state upon the rest of the warrior's family in his stead.

An essay thesis argues that although both "Flowers for Algernon" and "Fish Cheeks" address people's desire to fit in with others
guapka [62]

Answer: "It's a funny thing I never knew that Joe and Frank and the others liked to have me around all the time to make fun of me."

It is the quote from "Flowers for Algernon" that would best provide evidence for the thesis -- that people often treat those who are different badly.

Describe why Native American slavery did not last long
kaheart [24]

Answer:

Tribal territories and the slave trade ranged over present-day borders. Some Native American tribes held war captives as slaves prior to and during European colonization. Some Native Americans were captured and sold by others into slavery to Europeans, while others were captured and sold by Europeans themselves. In the late 18th and 19th centuries, a small number of tribes adopted the practice of holding slaves as chattel property, holding increasing numbers of African-American slaves.

European influence greatly changed slavery used by Native Americans, as pre-contact forms of slavery were generally distinct from the form of chattel slavery developed by Europeans in North America during the colonial period. As they raided other tribes to capture slaves for sales to Europeans, they fell into destructive wars among themselves, and against Europeans.
