It is mRNA because RNA, which stands for ribonucleic acid, is a polymeric molecule made up of one or more nucleotides. ... During the process known as transcription, a RNA copy of a segment of DNA, or messenger RNA (mRNA), is made. This strand of RNA can then be read by a ribosome to form a protein.

PLEASE HELP!! i need help with this for biology i’m desperate please
Vanyuwa [196]

As per the demonstration of Griffith and Avery, it can be concluded that the given experiment finding supports hypothesis III, i.e. genetic material or transforming substance is DNA.

What is Genetic material?

Genetic material may be defined as any substance found in the cells of plants, animals, microbial or other origins that hold genetic information and that departs it from one generation to the next.

In 1944, Avery and others concluded that the transforming material was pure DNA, not protein or RNA.

These investigators found that DNA extracted from a virulent strain of the bacterium Pneumococcus genetically transformed an avirulent strain of the organism into a virulent form.

Therefore, as per the demonstration of Griffith and Avery, it can be concluded that the given experiment finding supports hypothesis III, i.e. genetic material or transforming substance is DNA.

Which type(s) of cell division (mitosis, meiosis l, meiosis Il) reduce(s) the chromosome number by half? Which type(s) of cell d
PSYCHO15rus [73]

Answer:

Which type(s) of cell division reduce(s) the chromosome number by half?

                           Meiosis l

Which type(s) of cell division can be classified as reductional?

                            Meiosis I

Which type(s) of cell division can be classified as equational?

                           Mitosis and Meiosis II

Explanation:

Meiosis is a type of cell division which occurs in the germ or reproductive cells to produce gametes. It is completed in the two stages, meiosis I and meiosis II. The cells which are going to divide by meiosis are diploid having two sets of chromosomes. Meiosis I is the first stage of the meiosis. At the end of meiosis I two daughter cells are formed having only 1 set of chromosomes and chromosome numbers are reduced to half. Thus, meiosis I is a reductional division.

Mitosis and meiosis II is the equational division as after division chromosome number remains the same as in the parent.
