When I divided 1/4, I got .25 then I divided 1/6, and I got .1666666667 so I would say 1/4 I believe.

When I divided 5/6, I got .8333333333 then I divided 2/3, and I got .6666666667 so I would say 5/6 I believe.

The scale of a model train is 1 1 inch to 13.5 13.5 feet. One of the cars of the model train is 5 5 inches long. What is the len
Nostrana [21]

Answer:

74.25feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the scale of a model train expressed as;

1in = 13.5feet

We are to express length of 5.5in in feet

5.5in = x

Divide both expressions

1/5.5 = 13.5/x

Cross multiply

1×x = 5.5× 13.5

x = 74.25feet

Hence the actual length of the car in feet is 74.25feet

on monday it rained 2 1/3 inches of rain. today the total rain for monday and tuesday was 3 7/8 inches. how many inches did it r
nekit [7.7K]

Answer:

1 + 13/24 inches (1  \frac{13}{24} inches)

Step-by-step explanation:

Inches is a measurement unit that used to determine length or depth. To solve the question we need to subtract the total rain at Tuesday with the depth of the rain at Monday. In this question, we have 2 numbers with different denominators. To subtract them, we have to change the denominator so it will be the same for both numbers. The way to do this is to multiply both fractions with opposite denominators. The calculation will be:

3 \frac{7}{8} - 2 \frac{1}{3} =

1  \frac{7}{8}-  \frac{1}{3} =

1  \frac{7}{8}*\frac{3}{3}-  \frac{1}{3}*\frac{8}{8} =

1  \frac{21}{24}-  \frac{8}{24} =

1  \frac{13}{24}
