Answer:

Mineralization

Explanation:

The phosphates play a very important role and keeps on transferring from the rocks to the soil, plants, water, and organism, maintaining a cycle known as the phosphorous cycle.

During rainfall, the rocks comprised of phosphorous are weathered, as a result of which these phosphate ions are carried away with the sediments and water. Some of them are stored in the soil, which is again absorbed by the plants. The remaining flow with the water and eventually ends up in the oceans and seas.

In the oceans, the marine organisms then consume this phosphate, which leads to the formation of shells comprised of phosphate, and after their death, these shells are deposited on the bottom of the seafloor.

This process is known as mineralization. It is a process in which the inorganic materials are precipitated into a matrix that is organic in nature.

Answer: Mineralization

Explanation: Phosphorous cycle moves through the rocks, water, soil, sediments and organisms.

The weathering of rock releases phosphate ions and other minerals. Plants take up the phosphate from the soil. Phosphorous is present in the form of organic phosphate which is broken down by the help of microorganism in the form of inorganic phosphate.

This process is known as mineralization.

Which of the following are common traits of chloroplasts and mitochondria?
Delvig [45]

Answer:

c. Both have their own DNA.

Explanation:

Both chloroplast and mitochondria are semi-autonomous organelles which means that they both have their own DNA. Both of these organelles have a circular DNA and make some of their own proteins by themselves. Both are double membrane-bound organelles. Chloroplast has a third membrane system called thylakoid.

Chloroplasts are found in the plant cells only as they are the site for photosynthesis. Mitochondria are present in both plant and animal cells and are the site for cellular respiration to produce energy to support the vital functions of cells.

______________ is a contractile tissue that can accurately change the lumen size of an arteriole so that the conductance of flow
umka21 [38]

Answer: Vascular smooth muscle cells.

Explanation:

Vascular smooth muscle cells are the contractile tissues which regulates flow blood and pressure of the blood by vasoconstriction (contraction) and/or vasodilatation (relaxation).

Vasoconstriction is the contraction of the blood vessels to increase tge pressure of the blood.

Vasodilatation is the relaxation of the blood vessels which results in a decrease in blood pressure.

Diffusion occurs because of the ________________________ of molecules.
rosijanka [135]
Diffusion occurs because of the movement of molecules from the region of higher concentration to the region of lower concentration. This movement of molecules occurs due to a thermal motion. Diffusion normally occurs between two compartments having difference in concentration. In case of fluid it moves from the region of higher concentration to the region of concentration until a balance is reached. The process of diffusion is very important for the humans as well. The oxygen that humans breathe in gets diffused with the blood.
