The correct responses:

 • The Colonies have all the power of any other independent nation.
 • The Colonies are declaring independence.

Historical context/detail:

The quoted section comes from the Declaration of Independence (1776), which was written on behalf of the American colonies by Thomas Jeffersons. In preparing the Declaration of Independence, Jefferson and the American patriots were asserting their right to govern themselves and throw off the government of the British monarchy. The American founding fathers got ideas like this from the Enlightenment philosopher John Locke. According to Locke's view, a government's power to govern comes from the consent of the people themselves -- those who are to be governed. Locke argued for the rights of the people to create their own governments according to their own desires and for the sake of protecting their own life, liberty, and property. This also meant the right to change a government if the existing government did not protect those rights.

In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson offered a list of "facts to be submitted to a candid world" to demonstrate that the British king had been seeking to establish "an absolute Tyranny over these States" (the colonial states which were declaring their independence). Revolution was justified, in the view taken by the colonists, if it could be shown that the British government was acting in tyrannical ways toward the colonies.

kumpel [21]

Answer:

a) An ordinal scale of measurement

Explanation:

Naomi is doing a research based study on the effect of popularity on academic success. To help her out she has some elementary school students and these students will report on how popular each member in their class is.

So she uses these information from the students and she uses an ordinal scale of measurement to rank the students according to their popularity in the class.

Ordinal scale is a second level for measurement which reports the ordering and ranking of the information without actually considering the variation between the data or the information.

kozerog [31]

The answer is between 5 and 7 pm. According to Dr. James B. Maas and Rebecca S. Robbins, that time slot is the best time for athletic activity because it improves the depth of sleep of students at night (In their research, they stated that the optimal amount of sleep time is 8 to 10 hours for a teenager). They also found out that between the 6th and 8th hour of sleep, the brain gets in a state that enhances muscle memory significantly, which combined with better overall sleep, will result in better athletic performance.
