It was kind of a 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' thing. France wanted to break the power of the Catholic Hapsburgs monarchs, who ruled in Spain, Austria, and the Holy Roman Empire (modern Germany). One way to do this was to side with the Protestants, who also fought against the Hapsburgs in the Holy Roman empire.

How did the works of jan van eyck and rembrandt reflect a human-centered naturalism?
marshall27 [118]
Human-centred naturalism is the idea that individuals and everyday life are effective and convivial vehicles for artistic expression; in particular, both Flemish painters portrayed figures in visceral poses, conveying raw human emotion through the use of a rich, deep palette with highly contrasting colors. They were both noted in Renaissance art and painted in unique manners, which are noted throughout art history as being "masterful" works of art.

Answer:

Explanation:

Because it was a document that laid out specifically what the monarch could and could not do.
