After the First World War, many people were overwhelmed and confused. The war took an enormous toll on society, particularly in terms of death among young people. This resulted in a "lost generation" that saw their ambition and their ideas about life deeply affected by the war.

One common reaction to this was the reliance on hedonism. Many people believed that, since life was so fleeting, it was better to enjoy it while it lasted. This outlook in life was combined with the growth of consumerism and the development of new "trendy" items that rapidly became available all over the country.

These two factors played an important role in the 1920s. They led to a significant liberation of women, who were now able to vote. The decade also saw a period of uprecedented prosperity.

The extend of the first World War and the United States during this period changed American society to a large extend. This significant event can be seen as a cultural, social, and economic lens. American culture had changed in this period, and people bought the thing if they have money or not. Bank gave loans quickly as people failed to check credit and consumer-debt rose. Americans bought things that they did not need.

Change of culture was not the change in culture black culture had begun to flourish. This is the creation of homegrown American art and music. Hurt, in 1919, explained that men of color fought against German. They did not fight for their race. This fact plays a vital role in Black prosperity and strengths.

What contributed to the growth of representatives self government and democracy in the 13 colonies
LenKa [72]

There are three reasons for the growth of representative self-government in the 13 colonies. One of them is the population growth: this allowed cities to be formed and at the same time centers of government appeared. Another reason is the development of an independent economy: this allowed some colonies to issue their own money. And last but not least, the attempts of the British to control and dominate their colonies: this made the colonies to really want to have a self-government and their citizens to decide who they want to rule over them.
