Answer:

Explanation:

Let v be the linear velocity ,  ω be the angular velocity  and I be the moment of inertia of the the puck.

Kinetic energy ( linear ) = 1/2 mv²

Rotational kinetic energy = 1/2 I ω²

I = 1/2 m r² ( m and r be the mass and radius of the puck )

Rotational kinetic energy = 1/2 x1/2 m r² ω²

= 1/4 m v² ( v = r ω )

Total energy

= Kinetic energy ( linear ) + Rotational kinetic energy

= 1/2 mv² +  1/4 m v²

= 3/4 mv²

rotational K E / Total K E = 1/4 m v² / 3/4 mv²

= 1 /3

So  1 /3  rd of total energy is rotational K E.

You place ammonium nitrate crystals in water and stirred. As you do so, the container becomes cold to the touch. This an example
ankoles [38]

The process of flask becoming cold is due to endothermic reaction.

Answer: Option B

<u>Explanation:</u>

So two kinds of heat transfer can be possible in any chemical reaction. If the sample is considered as system and the sample container is considered as the surrounding, then heat transfer can occur between them.

If the heat is transferred from the surrounding to the system , then it is an endothermic reaction. And in those cases, the sample holder will be becoming colder. This is because the heat from the surrounding that is the container will be utilized to complete the reaction.

While when there is transfer of heat from the system to surrounding , it will be exothermic reaction and the beaker will be getting hot in this process. So in the present case, the container is becoming cold because of occurrence of endothermic process.

(1 point) A frictionless spring with a 3-kg mass can be held stretched 1.6 meters beyond its natural length by a force of 90 new
Nonamiya [84]

Answer:

x(t)=0.337sin((5.929t)

Explanation:

A frictionless spring with a 3-kg mass can be held stretched 1.6 meters beyond its natural length by a force of 90 newtons. If the spring begins at its equilibrium position, but a push gives it an initial velocity of 2 m/sec, find the position of the mass after t seconds.

Solution. Let x(t) denote the position of the mass at time t. Then x satisfies the differential equation

m \frac{d^{2}x}{dt^{2}} +kx=0

Definition of parameters

m=mass 3kg

k=force constant

e=extension ,m

ω =angular frequency

k=90/1.6=56.25N/m

ω^2=k/m= 56.25/1.6

ω^2=35.15625

ω=5.929

General solution will be

x(t)=c1cos(ωt)+c2Sin(ωt)

x(t)=c1cos(5.929t)+c2Sin(5.929t)

differentiating x(t)

dx(t)=-5.929c1sin(5.929t)+5.929c2cos(5.929t)

when x(0)=0, gives c1=0

dx(t0)=2m/s gives c2=0.337

Therefore, the position of the mass after t seconds is

x(t)=0.337sin((5.929t)

The gravity tractor, is a proposed spacecraft that will fly close to an asteroid whose trajectory threatens to impact the Earth.
Crazy boy [7]

Answer:

F_g=461lb_f

Explanation:

First calculate the mass of the asteroid. To do so, you need to find the volume and know the density of iron.

If r = d/2 = 645ft, then:

V = \frac{4}{3} \pi r^3

V = \frac{4}{3} \pi r^3\\V = 1.124\times10^{9}ft^3\delta_{iron}=m/V=491lb/ft^3m=V\times\delta=5.519\times10^{11}lb

In order to find force, use Newton's universal law of gravitation:

F_g=G\frac{m_1m_2}{d^2}

Where,

G= the gravitational constant:

G= 1.068846 \times10^{-9} ft^3 lb^{-1} s^{-2}

F_g=461lb_f
