If you are unsatisfied with the result of your case, you can appeal it to a higher court, also known as a court of appeals, where your case will be reviewed and reheard. Once your case reaches the Supreme Court, however, you can not appeal it any further.
The appellate court's task is to determine whether or not the law was applied correctly in the trial court. Appeals courts consist of three judges and do not use a jury.
