The route skirted the northern edge and crossed the north-western corner of Comancheria, the territory of the Comanche. Realizing the value, they demanded compensation for granting passage to the trail. American traders envisioned them as another market. Comanche raiding farther south in Mexico isolated New Mexico, making it more dependent on the American trade. They raided to gain a steady supply of horses to sell. By the 1840s, trail traffic through the Arkansas Valley was so numerous that bison herds were cut off from important seasonal grazing land. This habitat disruption, on top of overhunting, contributed to the collapse of the species. Comanche power declined in the region when they lost their most important game.[5]

What was the ultimate goal of the United States in the 1914 mexican intervention?
Cerrena [4.2K]

The ultimate goal of the United States in their intervention in Mexico in 1914 was to have a neighbor that is stable, that they will be able to influence and control to a certain level, and protect their economic and political interest.

The intervention of the United States was a very variable and very controversial. They did not stick with one side to support, but instead they were changing sides, usually supporting the person in power, except when the French intervened too.

Also, the USA openly threatened Mexico that it will use military power in order to protect its interests and its citizens that own businesses and property in the country.

One of the “don’ts” in analyzing or evaluating a primary source is to avoid recreating the
Elanso [62]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

One of the “don’ts” in analyzing or evaluating a primary source is to avoid recreating the author’s experience of his society.

No, I don't agree with this statement because I consider that in order to truly understand the primary source, a good researcher has to understand the circumstance and the time in which the primary source was created.

This means, if it was during a war or a revolutionary period, the researcher has to understand and think as the author of the source did.

ANd I am clear using my words: understand. Not biasing the records, the facts, or misinterpret the situation, the context, or the facts.
