Answer:

Growth

Explanation:

Living beings are characterized by performing certain vital functions which in turn set them apart from the nonliving things. These life processes are namely, growth, reproduction, metabolism, excretion, digestion, sensitivity to surroundings, etc.

The growth of living beings occurs by an increase in cell number and cell enlargement. Anabolic reactions are the ones that make complex molecules using simpler substances. Some of these complex molecules are proteins, fats, various fibers such as collagen, components of matrices of various connective tissues, etc.

When the rate of anabolic reactions is higher than that of catabolic reactions, more of these complex biomolecules are being formed. The synthesized proteins are incorporated into muscles, bone matrices are deposited to support the skeletal growth.

The newly formed proteins and DNA support the cell division which in turn increases the total number of cells in the body. All these events together bring about the growth of the organism.

design an experiment to test substances X, Y, and Z to determine which one is a catalyst for the reaction.
Fynjy0 [20]

Answer:

A+B C. Only one of the unknown substances is a catalyst, and the others are nonreactive with A, B, or C. When 10 mL of A is added to 10 mL of B the reaction takes twenty seconds. Bubbles form when the product C is created. The student prepares three test tubes, each containing both reactants A and B. She adds unknowns X, Y, and Z to test tubes 1, 2, and 3, respectively.

What is stimulated by high extracellular fluid volume (ECFV) and works to increase GFR and urine output?
r-ruslan [8.4K]

Stretching of the atrial muscle cells releases a hormone called atrial natriuretic factor (ANF). ANF relaxes the juxtaglomerular (JG) cells of the afferent arteriole and thereby increases GFR and urine output.

What are the characteristics of red light, which is absorbed by chlorophylls?
Lilit [14]
There are choices for this question namely:

A. Its photons have the shortest wavelength in the visual spectrum
B. Its photons have the highest energy in the visual spectrum
C. Its photons have the longest wavelength in the visual spectrum
D. It is not considered a part of the visual spectrum

The correct answer is that its photons have the longest wavelength in the visual spectrum. Chlorophyll, being green in color (around 495 to 590 nm wavelength), reflects this wavelength; not absorbed. Mostly, the chlorophyll absorbs longer wavelengths of light such as red (around 680 nm wavelength) and blue to violet (around 400 to 480 nm wavelnegth).
