Why do you think the wasps were disbanded in 1944 rather than made a permanent part of the military?

Wasps were disbanded when enough male veterans returned from the war and could take care of the military. The wasps were not considered to be veterans and did not receive medals and similar things and were only accepted as official veterans in 1977 after a new act was made to give them their respect that they had deserved.
