You must multiply the all the numerators first. This is 8 x 6 x 1 = 48. Therefore you know 48 will be the top number. Now you multiply the denominators 15 x 5 x 3 =  225. Therefore the answer will be 48/225. However you can simply this fraction. Now you must think of a number that both 48 and 225 are divisible by, in this case it is 3. Therefore the answer is 16/75.

Okay to make life easy lets start by multiplying the denominators (bottom), 15*5*3=225.  Now we need to do is multiply all the numerators (top), 8*6*1=48. So now we have 48/225, but this isn't complete we now need to simplify this. Both the denominator and the numerator can be divided by 3, leaving us with 16/75.

A jar is filled with only dimes and quarters. The jar contains a total of 60 coins and the value of the jar is $11.25. How many
inessss [21]

Answer:

35 quarters

Step-by-step explanation:

This situation has two unknowns - the total number of dimes and the total number of quarters. Because we have two unknowns, we will write a system of equations with two equations using the two unknowns.

  • d+q=60 is an equation representing the total number of coins
  • 0.10d+0.25q=11.25 is an equation representing the total value in money based on the number of coin. 0.10 and 0.25 come from the value of a dime and quarter individually.

We write the first equation in terms of q by subtracting it across the equal sign to get d=60-q. We now substitute this for d in the second equation.

0.10(60-q)+0.25q=11.25\\6-0.10q+0.25q=11.25\\6+0.15q=11.25

After simplifying, we subtract 6 across and divide by the coefficient of q.

6+0.15q=11.25\\0.15q=5.25\\q=35

We now know of the 60 coins that 35 are quarters. To find the total value of the quarters, we multiply 35 by 0.25 and find 8.75.

What are the values of h and x in the right triangle? Explain.
alexandr402 [8]

Answer:

h = 60 ; x = 25

Step-by-step explanation:

You are going to want to use Pythagorean Theorem to solve these.

Pythagorean Theorem: a² + b² = c²

h² + 144² = 156²

h² + 20736 = 24336

h² = 3600

h = 60

x² + 60² = 65²

x² + 3600 = 4225

x² = 625

x = 25

Luke runs a farm stand that sells strawberries and blueberries. Each pound of
koban [17]
Answer:
He would make $36 for 12 pounds of strawberries
He would make $196 for 49 pounds of blueberries

He would make 3S if he sold S pounds of strawberries
He would make 4B if he sold B pounds of blueberries

Working:
We know that strawberries are $3/pound so $3 x 12pounds = $36
We know that blueberries are $4/pound so $4 x 49pounds = $196

The letters represent the amount of pounds of fruit being bought so the calculation for that is ($ x pounds) so you would write this but without assigning a numerical value to the amount. So if the strawberries are $3/pound and Luke sold ‘s’ pounds then it would be 3S (or 3xS but that is already assumed). The same goes for the blueberries. We know that they are $4/pound so it would be 4B.

Sorry if this doesn’t make any sense but I hope this helped
