How us multiplying mixed numbers different than multiplying fractions?

Mathematics

Well mixed numbers look like this 2 1/3
and fractions look like this 1/3
When multiplying a regular fraction there is no whole number in front of it so all you would do is multiply the fractions. But a mixed number does have a whole number in front of it so you would multiply the fraction part the exact same way its just after the end you would have to add the whole numbers in front of each fraction together.
I hope this makes sense, and I hope it helps.
Just feel free to message me if you feel like you need an example I would love to help. :)

To multiply two mixed numbers, or a mixed number and a fraction, first convert each mixed number to a fraction. Then multiply the fractions.

Derive cos (2x - 1)
ExtremeBDS [4]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

I believe that what you want to do here is to "differentiate" cos (2x - 1).

We must use the rule for differentiating cos x and also the chain rule, since the input to cos x here is (2x - 1).

(d/dx) is the derivative operator.

(d/dx) (cos x) = -sin x

(d/dx) cos (2x - 1) = - sin (2x - 1) * (d/dx) (2x -1) = -sin (2x - 1)(2) = -2sin (2x - 1)

Find the quotient of 68.0052 and 12. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth. 5.66 5.67 5.07 5.06!
salantis [7]

Answer:

5.67

Step-by-step explanation:

 • 68.0052 divided by 12 = 5.6671
 • The hundredth place is two digits to the right of the decimal point.
 • To round this look at the third number to determine whether the 6 in 5.6671 is rounded to 7.
 • The third digit to the right of the decimal is greater than 5 so the number is rounded to 5.67
