You just need to match the terms that are the same. Let's look at number one.
2x^2 + 4x +1 + 3x^2 +6x +5 the matching parts:
the 2x^2 and the 3x^2 go together. That means you can combine them here they are positive so you add them.
The 4x and the 6x go together they both only have an x with them. They are both positive so you can add them together.
Last you have a 1 and a 5. These are matching so you can combine them too. They are both positive too so just add them together.
So your final answer would be 5x^2 + 10x + 6. Does that make sense?

John owns a clothing store that sells graphic T-shirts and shorts. He sells the
Nikolay [14]

The points (s, t) that will maximize John's profit is; (12, 0)

How to use Inequality Constraints?

We are given the inequality constraints;

s ≤ 12 - 0.5t

s ≥ 10 - t

s ≤ 20 - t

s ≥ 0

t ≥ 0

We are told that John sells the T-shirts for $6 each and the shorts for $14 each. Since the coordinate point is (s, t), when we look at the options and compare with each of the constraints, it is clear that the points (s, t) that will maximize John's profit is; (12, 0)

A battery in a laptop computer degrades by 0.5% per recharge. If the initial capacity is 80Wh of charge, how may recharge cycle
Tema [17]

Answer: 76Wh

Step-by-step explanation:

Basically all you have to do to find the answer is multiply 80 by 0.05. Then after that you subtract 80 by the answer you got. That's pretty much it.

The sum of the first 3 terms of a geometric series is 171 and the common ratio is 2/3
S_A_V [24]

Answer:

81

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for calculating the sum of geometric series varies depending on the value of its common ratio.

Given the common ratio to be 2/3 which is less than 1, the formula to be used is given as;

Sn = a(1-rⁿ)/1-r

n is the number of terms of the series

a is the first term

r is the common ratio.

Sn is the sum of the series

Given n = 3, r = 2/3 and Sn = 171,

a= ?

Substituting this values in the formula we have;

171 = a{1-(2/3)³}/1-2/3

171 = a{1-8/27}/(1/3)

171 = a(19/27)/(1/3)

171 = 19a/27 × 3/1

171 = 57a/27

57a = 171×27

57a = 4,617

a = 4,617/57

a = 81

The first term of the series is 81

Which feature distinguishes mathematics from the other science ? Justify your answer.
andreyandreev [35.5K]
The main difference between mathematics and other sciences is that mathematics deals with rational models, in which they apply logical implications in axioms they assume. On the other hand, science uses these axioms and models to describe a certain natural phenomenon.
