How are ethnic and religious conflicts related to problems of global security ?

These problems present a possible global security threat becaue they destabilize certain regions which also influences the regions that they are connected to. This in effect means that when a certain region gets destabilized and is in conflict, the people from this region suffer, which can cause further possible disturbances. At the same time though, nations with an economic interest in those regions suffer as well as they have their own agenda/interests which get threatened.
