Answer: He get 24 miles before his tire went flat.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of miles he get before his tire went flat be 'x'.

Speed at which he left his house and rode his bike into town = 6 mph

Speed at which he got a flat tire so he had to turn around and walk his bike back to his house = 2 mph

Total time taken by the trip down and back = 16 hours

According to question,

\dfrac{x}{6}+\dfrac{x}{2}=16\\\\\dfrac{x+3x}{6}=16\\\\\dfrac{4x}{6}=16\\\\x=\dfrac{16\times 6}{4}\\\\x=4\times 6\\\\x=24\ miles

Hence, he get 24 miles before his tire went flat.

taurus [48]

Answer:

39

Step-by-step explanation:

(16-2w)^2 + (3y÷3z)

Let w=5 y=9 and z=3

(16-2*5)^2 + (3*9÷3*3)

PEMDAS says parentheses first

Multiply and divide in the parentheses

(16-10)^2 + (27÷9)

Then add and subtract in the parentheses

(6)^2 + (3)

Now the exponent

36 +3
