During colonial times outside of New England, education was
riadik2000 [5.3K]
A
Particularly in the southern colonies, education tended to be reserved for the gentry and upper-class people (plantation owners mainly). Slaves were not educated; in fact, it was illegal to teach slaves to read or write. This stemmed from the fact that a large portion of education involved the Bible, slaves who read the Bible could be expected to convert to Christianity, and Christians are forbidden to enslave one another by their religion. Significant social and economic inequality persisted in the South well into the 20th century.

Using your understanding of Von Thünen’s arrangement of agricultural crops surrounding the market, describe the location of dair
kvv77 [185]

Answer:Shipping low-yield crops great distances

Imagine a very large town in the center of a uniformly fertile plain; an isotropic space. Beyond the fertile space extends a desert that isolates the town from the rest of the world. There are no other populations. The only market buys all the agricultural production of the region, and is transported by the shortest route (a straight line).

In these conditions all men behave similarly in economic matters, that is, they have the same needs and abilities, produce equally and have a total knowledge of space and rationally conducts to achieve maximum performance, is the economic man. The differences in the cost of transport are taken into account depending on the distance, the quantity and the perishability of the merchandise.

Which political economic system do you think is the best balance of freedom and equality? Why?
AveGali [126]
Whilst Liberalism is founded on ideas of freedom, equality and liberty. Social Democracy is the best balance of freedom and equality because it promotes social justice in a capitalist economy and a liberal democratic view. Also, communism has, historically, a poor reputation for freedom and equality. For example, China and North Korea are current communist countries and Russia previously was a communist country after the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917.
