SEC was an organization created during Roosevelt's New Deal to ensure that stocks were not fraudulent and that they were being traded properly without abuses.
It was harder to find jobs and less survival resources when moving to the coast. As America industrialized, the people started to migrate more towards the west especially when railroads were beginning to attach.
Most of these plantations had fifty or fewer slaves, although the largest plantations have several hundred. Cotton was by far the leading cash crop, but slaves also raised rice, corn, sugarcane, and tobacco.
