Answer:

<em>The expression for final cost of the DVD is  0.9064y</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

Jessica purchased a DVD that was on sale for 12% off.

If the original price of the DVD is  y , then the amount of discount on sale will be:  0.12y

So, the selling price of the DVD = (y-0.12y)= 0.88y

The sales tax in her county is 3%. So, the amount of sales tax on the selling price will be:  (0.88y\times 0.03)= 0.0264y

Thus, the expression for final cost of the DVD is:  (0.88y+0.0264y)= 0.9064y

What is the surface area of a coke bottle? <br>how do you figure it out?
svetlana [45]
Can or bottle? A can will be the calculation for the surface area of a cylinder which is A= 2 \pi rh+2 \pi r^{2} if r is the radius of the circle on the top and bottom of the can and h is the height of the can. A can is basically two circles and a big rectangle. For a bottle I don't know there are too many components and no numbers to solve for that

<span>you need to set up the equations solve for x or y. and substitute. I can give you the starting equations, but i cant find the answer and I don't remember how to do all the steps, but the first two equations (the ones you use to solve for x or y to use to solve for a number to subsitute. x-12=y y-14=3x and there should be one more for that they met two years ago.</span>

The wildflowers at a national park have been decreasing in numbers. There were 1200 wildflowers in the first year that the park
Andreas93 [3]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We have total 1200 wildflowers in first year that is first term a  is 1200

We have to find sigma notation  showing the infinite growth of the wildflowers.

wildflowers=\sum_{i=1}^{\infty }1200(\frac{1}{4})^{i-1}

Formula for infinite sum of GP is S_{\infty}=\frac{a}{1-r}

Here, a=1200,r=\frac{1}{4}

On substituting the values in the formula of sum we get:

S_{\infty}=\frac{1200}{1-\frac{1}{4}}

On simplification we get:

S_{\infty}=\frac{1200}{\frac{3}{4}}=1600

Therefore, total sum of wildflowers 1600.
