A sample of 6 observations collected in a regression study on two variables, x(independent variable) and y(dependent variable).

The sample resulted in the following data.SSR=60, SST=89, summation (x_i-xbar)2=28, summation (x_i-xbar)(y_i-ybar)=45.Calculate the t test statistics to determine whether a statistically linear relationship exists between x and y.

Answer:

The  t test statistics = 6.1357

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

sample (n) = 6

r = \sqrt{\frac{SSR}{SST} }

r = \sqrt{\frac{60}{89} }

r = 0.821

Therefore; the t test statistic can be calculated as :

t = r* (\frac{\sqrt{n - 2} }{1 - r^2} ) \\ \\ t = 0.821 * (\frac{\sqrt{6 - 2} }{1 - 0.821^2} )\\\\ t = 0.821 * (\frac{\sqrt{4} }{1 - 0.674041} ) \\ \\ t = (\frac{\sqrt{4} }{0.325959})\\ \\ t = (\frac{ 2 }{0.325959}) \\  \\ t = 6.1357

First you need to set up the frequency chart. The columns can be Multiples of 3 and not multiples of 3. The rows can be Multiples of 4 and not multiples of 4 like shown in step 1. in attached file

Then we start adding in values I will add 20 as the total numbers as in step 2 in attached file.

Next I place in the Multiple of 9 that is not 3, and the total multiples of 3, and total multiples of 4 in step 3.

Based on the totals I can assume that there are 10 that are not multiples of 4 and ten that are not multiples of 3 shown in step 4

In step 5 I fill in the insides so that the totals will add up so we know that for multiples of 3 9+1=10 so I fill in the one at the top left corner.

In step 6 the only numbers left to fill in the totals would be 9 and 1  for values that are not multiples of 3 and not multiples of both.

Write an equation for the line parallel to the line - 8x + 4y = 4 through the point (-6,3). Please enter your answer in slope in
Nutka1998 [239]

Answer:

y = 2x + 15     OR    2x- y +15 =0

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the equation for the line parallel to the line -8x + 4y = 4, passing through the point (-6,3), we will first make the equation given to be in slope-intercept form, so that we can find the slope of this line

-8x + 4y = 4 we have to change it to the form y=mx + c

To do that, lets add 8x to both-side of the equation

8x -8x +4y=8x+4

4y=8x+4

divide both-side of the equation by 4

4y/4  = 8x/4  +4/4

y=2x + 1

comparing the above equation with y=mx + c

our slope(m) = 2

Any equation parallel to this line will have the same slope, so the slope(m) of our new equation will also be 2

Now we need to find the intercept of our new equation, to do that we will plug in the points given and our new slope into y=mx + c and find the value of our intercept(c)

The points given are x=-6 and y=3 and our new slope is m=2

plugging in our variables, thus;

y =mx + c

3 = 2(-6) + c

3 = -12 + c

add 12 to both-side of the equation

3+12 = -12+12+c

15=c

c=15

Therefore our intercept for the new equation is 15

To form our new equation, we will just plug in our new slope and intercept into y=mx + c

y = 2x + 15    (this is in slope intercept form)

we can rearrange it to be in standard form;

2x- y-15=0

Step-by-step explanation:

\large{ \sf{= \frac{ {x}^{ - 4 \times 2} {y}^{2} }{ {x}^{ - 9 \times 2} {y}^{5 \times 2}  } }}
