Answer : The atomic number and nucleon of the isotope formed in 1st step i.e X are 107 and 264.

The atomic number and nucleon of the isotope formed in 2nd step i.e Y are 105 and 260.

Explanation :

Given : Element = Meitnerium

Atomic number = 109

Atomic mass = 268

Alpha decay : It is a radioactive decay in which nucleus emits an alpha particle and turns into different atomic nucleus. During alpha decay, an atom loses 2 protons and 2 neutrons.

Step 1 : Alpha decay equation when Meitnerium undergoes alpha decay.

^{268}_{109}Mt\rightarrow ^{264}_{107}X+^4_2\alpha

Step 2 : Alpha decay equation when ^{264}_{107}X undergoes alpha decay.

^{264}_{107}X\rightarrow ^{260}_{105}Y+^4_2\alpha

Nucleon number : It is also known as atomic mass number and it is equal to the total number of protons & neutrons in the nucleus of an atom.

Nucleon number = Atomic mass number

Therefore, The atomic number and nucleon of the isotope formed in 1st step i.e X are 107 and 264.

The atomic number and nucleon of the isotope formed in 2nd step i.e Y are 105 and 260.

In humans, free earlobes are dominant and attached earlobes are recessive. The pedigree shows the transmission of attached earlo
Anna11 [10]

Answer:

By analyzing a pedigree, we can determine genotypes, identify phenotypes, and predict how a trait will be passed on in the future. The information from a pedigree makes it possible to determine how certain alleles are inherited: whether they are dominant, recessive, autosomal, or sex-linked.The Punnett square is a square diagram that is used to predict the genotypes of a particular cross or breeding experiment. It is named after Reginald C. Punnett, who devised the approach. The diagram is used by biologists to determine the probability of an offspring having a particular genotype.Changes (mutations) to genes can result in changes to proteins, which can affect the structures and functions of the organism and thereby change traits. Variations of inherited traits between parent and offspring arise from genetic differences that result from the subset of chromosomes (and therefore genes) inherited.

An impure sample of solid Na₂CO₃ is allowed to react with 0.1755 M HCl.
jasenka [17]

Answer: Thus percentage purity of sodium carbonate is 60.83%.

Explanation:

Na_2CO_3 + 2HCl \longrightarrow 2NaCl + CO_2 + H_2O

Volume of the HCl solution ,V = 15.55 mL= 0.01555 L

Concentration of HCl solution ,C= 0.1755 M

Moles of HCl in 0.1755 M solution = n

Molarity=\frac{n}{V(L)}

n=C\time V=0.1755 M\times 0.01555 L = 2.729\times 10^{-3} mol

According o reaction 2 moles of HCl reacts with 1 mole of sodium carbonate.

Then n moles of HCl will react with:

\frac{1}{2}\times n=\frac{1}{2}\times 2.729\times 10^{-3} mol=1.3645\times 10^{-3} mol of sodium carbonate.

Mass of 1.364\times 10^{-3} mol of sodium carbonate:

1.364\times 10^{-3} mol\times 106 g/mol=0.144584 g

Mass of the sample given= 0.2377 grams

Mass used up in reaction = 0.144585 g

percentage purity= \frac{0.144585}{0.2337}\times 100=60.83\%

Thus percentage purity of sodium carbonate is 60.83%.
