Democracy is a system of government that gives the right to the population or public to elect the representative for the country. Democracy is quoted as "By the people, for the people and to the people".

Democracy today still a work in progress because<u> there are still many challenges in the society that a democratic country need to progress in such as giving equal rights to individuals.</u>

Civil rights and political rights are valued in some democratic countries but still, economic, social, and cultural rights are not. Gender equality is only written on papers but still, it needs progress. Humans are there but people get harassed or abused when they use it. Many other challenges such as poverty and equality in education are still needed to be addressed by some of the democratic countries.

So, Democracy today still a work in progress .
