There is a (.6)(.4) = 24% possibility of making 1 point.

There is a (.6)(.6) = 36% possibility of making 2 points.

Expected value = 0 * .40 + 1 * .24 + 2 * .36 = 0.96  

a) She is most likely to make 0.96 points.

b)  

Expected value = 0 * ( .4) + 1 * (.6)(.3) + 2 * (.6)(.7)
