Chelsea and Ming are selling pies for a school fundraiser. Customers can buy blueberry pies and lemon pies. Chelsea sold 7 blueb
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Answer:

The cost of 1 blueberry is $7

The cost of 1 lemon pie is $17

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The number of blueberry sold by Chelsea = 7

The number of lemon pie sold by Chelsea = 10

The number of blueberry sold by Ming = 5

The number of lemon pie sold by Ming = 1

The total selling amount of Chelsea = $219

The total selling amount of Ming = $52

Let The cost of 1 blueberry = b

And The cost of 1 lemon pie = l

Now, According to question

<u>For Chelsea</u>

7 b + 10 l = $219             ..................1

<u>For Ming</u>

5 b + 1 l = $52                .................2

Solving both equations

10×(5 b + 1 l ) - (7 b + 10 l) = 10×52 - 219

Or, 50 b + 10 l - 7 b - 10 l = 520 - 219

Or, (50 b - 7 b) + (10 l - 10 l) = 301

Or, 50 b - 7 b+ 0 = 301

Or, 43 b = 301

∴ b = \frac{301}{43}

I.e b = $7

So, The cost of 1 blueberry = b = $7

Put the value of b in eq 2

So, 5 × 7 + 1 l = $52

or, 35 + l = $ 52

Or, l = 52 - 35

∴   l = $17

So,  The cost of 1 lemon pie = l = $17

Hence The cost of 1 blueberry is $7

And The cost of 1 lemon pie is $17     Answer

Julli [10]
The two equations should be x+y=45 and 1.2x+y=52. Plug in x=35 y=10 into the second equation... then plug in x=25 and y=20 in the second equation

Simplify completely sqrt of 20Y^8
brilliants [131]

Answer:

Final answer is 2y^4 \sqrt{5}.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given expression is \sqrt{20y^8}.

Now we need to smplify the given expression \sqrt{20y^8}.

So begin with factoring 20 into two parts so that one part is perfect square number.

\sqrt{20y^8}

=\sqrt{4 \times 5y^8}

=\sqrt{4 y^8} \times \sqrt{5}

=2y^4 \times \sqrt{5}

Hence final answer is 2y^4 \sqrt{5}.
