Answer:

Object 2 has the larger drag coefficient

Explanation:

The drag force, D, is given by the equation:

D = 0.5 c \rho A v^2

Object 1 has twice the diameter of object 2.

If d_2 = d

d_1 = 2d

Area of object 2, A_2 = \frac{\pi d^2 }{4}

Area of object 1:

A_1 = \frac{\pi (2d)^2 }{4}\\A_1 = \pi d^2

Since all other parameters are still the same except the drag coefficient:

For object 1:

D = 0.5 c_1 \rho A_1 v^2\\D = 0.5 c_1 \rho (\pi d^2) v^2

For object 2:

D = 0.5 c_2 \rho A_2 v^2\\D = 0.5 c_2 \rho (\pi d^2/4) v^2

Since the drag force for the two objects are the same:

0.5 c_1 \rho (\pi d^2) v^2 = 0.5 c_2 \rho (\pi d^2/4) v^2\\4c_1 = c_2

Obviously from the equation above, c₂ is larger than c₁, this means that object 2 has the larger drag coefficient

A manometer using oil (density 0.900 g/cm3) as a fluid is connected to an air tank. Suddenly the pressure in the tank increases
Mila [183]

Answer:

Rise in level of fluid is 0.11 m

Rise in level of fluid in case of mercury is 0.728 cm or 7.28 mm

Solution:

As per the question:

Density of oil, \rho_{o} = 0.900\ g/cm^{3} = 900\ kg/m^{3}

Change in Pressure in the tank, \Delta P = 7.28\ mmHg

Density of the mercury, \rho_{m} = 13.6\ g/cm^{3} = 13600\ kg/m^{3}

Now,

To calculate the rise in the level of fluid inside the manometer:

We know that:

1 mmHg = 133.332 Pa

Thus

\Delta P = 7.28\ times 133.332 = 970.656\ Pa

Also,

\Delta P = \rho_{o} gh

where

g = acceleration due to gravity

h = height of the fluid level

970.656 = 900\times 9.8\times h

h = 0.11 m

Now, if mercury is used:

\Delta P = \rho_{m} gh

970.656 = 13600\times 9.8\times h

h = 0.00728 m = 7.28 mm

Eleven wa=eighs 47 kg. her height is 1.63 m. what is her bmi
valentinak56 [21]

Answer:

17.7kg/m^{2}

Explanation:

                       BMI =

                             =  \frac{weight (kg)}{height  (m)   .   height (m)}

                             = 47kg/(1.63m×1.63m)

                             = 17.689kg/m^{2}

                             ≈ 17.7kg/m^{2}
