This equation should of be written as 460=12m+50, not 460=50+12m, but either way, 12 is the amount of something that being multiply by, or the slope, 50 is the y-intercept, and m is the thing that I mentioned earlier.

50 + 12m = 460
Subtract 50 from both sides
12m = 410
Divide 12 from both sides to isolate m
m = 34 1/6

The length of a rectangle is three times its width. if the area of the rectangle is 75 in2, find its perimeter.
UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

 40 in

Step-by-step explanation:

For a width of w, the length is 3w and the area and perimeter are ...

 A = LW = (3w)(w) = 3w^2

 P = 2(L+W) = 2(3w +w) = 8w

We are given the area, so we can find w to be ...

 75 in^2 = 3w^2

 25 in^2 = w^2 . . . . . divide by 3

 5 in = w . . . . . . . . . square root

Then the perimeter is ...

 P = 8w = 8(5 in) = 40 in

What is the distance between the zoo and the library?
KATRIN_1 [288]
The answer is as follow

sin60° = 400√3 / H1, implies H1= 400√3 / sin60°
sin30° = 400√3 / H2, implies H2= 400√3 / sin30°
and the if the distance is D,
so we can find D such that D= H2 - H1=400√3 / sin30° - 400√3 / sin60°
D= 400√3(1/sin30° - 1/ sin60°)=400√3(2-1.15)=338.11√3
