f(x) = 3-2x

g(x) = 1/x+5

Find (f/g)(8)

First replace x with 8 in each equation and solve them:

f(x) = 3-2x

f(8) = 3-2(8) =

3-16 = -13

g(x) = 1/x+5

g(8) = 1/8+5 =

g(8) = 1/13

Now f/g becomes -13 / 1/13 which equals -169

An exponential function is expressed in the form y=axb^x. The relation represents a growth when ________ and a decay when_______
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Answer:

Growth when: b>1.

Decay when: 0<b<1.

Step-by-step explanation:

Any function in the form f(x) =a\times b^x , where a > 0, b > 0 and b not equal to 1 is called an exponential function with base b.

if 0 < b < 1.  It is an example of an exponential decay.

The general shape of an exponential with b > 1 is an example of exponential growth.

Hence,

An exponential function is expressed in the form y=a\times b^x The relation represents a growth when  b >1 and a decay when 0<b<1.

What is the solution to the expression Negative 2 minus 3 minus (negative 4)? A number line going from negative 10 to positive 1
beks73 [17]

The solution of the expression is -1 ⇒ 3rd answer

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us revise some important rules on the number line

  • If we add number to another number we move to right
  • If we subtract a number from another number we move to left

∵ The expression is negative 2 minus 3 minus (negative 4)

∵ negative 2 = (-2)

∵ minus means (-)

(-2) minus 3 means move 3 units from (-2) to left, so you will pass -3, -4, and stop at -5

∴ (-2) - 3 = -5

∵ minus (negative 4) = - (-4)

- Remember (-)(-) = (+)

∴ minus (negative 4) = + 4

That means move 4 units to the right from -5, then you will pass -4, -3, -2, and stop at -1

∴ -5 + 4 = -1

∴ The expression (-2) - 3 - (-4) = -1

The solution of the expression is -1

Lee spends $9 on 3 comic books. Each book costs the same amount.
kobusy [5.1K]

3c=9

$3 per comic book (c) equals the total amount of money spent, $9.

You can solve this expression by dividing both sides by 3.

c=3, which means that each book costs $3.

I hope this helps :)
