IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

(1/6)^2

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to find the fraction that is equivalent to 1/36.

Let us look at each of them individually:

a. (\frac{1}{108})^3 = \frac{1}{1259712}

b. (\frac{1}{9})^4 =  \frac{1}{6561}

c. (\frac{1}{6})^2 =  \frac{1}{36}

d. (\frac{1}{5})^2 = \frac{1}{25}

Therefore, the correct answer is c.

Regina brought 8 7/8 pound of fruit for her family . She brought 3 1/2 pound of oranges and 2 3/4 pound of peaches and some appl
butalik [34]

Answer:

Regina has bought 2\frac{5}{8}\ pounds of apples.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Amount of fruit brought = 8\frac{7}{8}\ pounds

Now given number is in mixed fraction we will convert into improper fraction.

To convert a mixed fraction to an improper fraction, we will Multiply the whole number part by the fraction's denominator.  Add that to the numerator,Then write the result on top of the denominator.

So we can say that;

8\frac{7}{8}\ pounds can be Rewritten as \frac{71}{8}\ pounds

Amount of fruit brought = \frac{71}{8}\ pounds

Also given:

Amount of oranges bought = 3\frac12\ pounds

3\frac12\ pounds can be Rewritten as \frac{7}{2}\ pounds

Amount of oranges bought =  \frac{7}{2}\ pounds

Amount of peaches bought = 2 \frac34\ pounds

2 \frac34\ pounds can be Rewritten as \frac{11}{4}\ pounds

Amount of peaches bought =  \frac{11}{4}\ pounds

We need to find amount of apples bought by Regina.

Solution:

Let the amount of apples bought be 'x'

Now we know that;

Amount of fruit brought is equal to sum of Amount of oranges bought and Amount of peaches bought amount of apples.

framing in equation form we get;

\frac{71}{8}=\frac{7}{2}+\frac{11}{4}+x\\\\x=\frac{71}{8}-\frac{7}{2}-\frac{11}{4}

Now we will make the denominator common using LCM we get.

x=\frac{71\times 1}{8\times 1}-\frac{7\times4}{2\times4}-\frac{11\times2}{4\times2}\\\\x=\frac{71}{8}-\frac{28}{8}-\frac{22}{8}

Now denominators are same so we will solve the numerator.

x=\frac{71-28-22}{8}\\\\x=\frac{21}{8}\ pounds

Now \frac{21}{8}\ pounds can be Rewritten as 2\frac{5}{8}\ pounds

Hence Regina has bought 2\frac{5}{8}\ pounds of apples.

Im working on ratios and proportions and missed some of it. Can anyone help?
Anna35 [415]
So for 1, the way to find one 'part' of the ratio, is to add up the ratio and divide the number from 180 (180 degrees in a triangle). So you would do 7 + 13 + 16 = 36. 180 divided by 36 = 5. Each part represents '5'. So to find the angles, you would do the coefficient multiplied by 5. Therefore, angle DEA is 13 * 5, which is 65 degrees, angle DFA is 16 * 5 = 80 degrees, and angle FDE is 7 * 5, which is 35. You know this is correct because 80 + 35 + 65 = 180 degrees.

For 2, you just have to set up a ratio. So we know that there are 320 cookies for 16 students, so the ratio would be set up as 320:16. So the cookie:student ratio, a.k.a, the number of cookies for each student is going to be the entire ratio divided by 16. We do this because there are 16 students, so to find the amount of cookies for 1 student, we do 16 / 16, which is 1. But of course, this affects the first part of the ratio too, so you do 320 divided by 16, which is 20. So the cookie:student ratio is 20:1. Every 1 student gets 20 cookies.

For 3, you just have to set up another ratio. If he finds 2 clovers in the first 12 minutes, the clover:minute ratio will be 2:12, or 1:6. This means that for every 6 minutes spent searching, 1 clover will be found. If he spends a total of 180 minutes searching, we can predict the number of clovers he will find by doing a proportion calculation. 180 / 6 = 30. That means we have to multiply 1:6 by 30 to find the number of clovers he will find. We multiply by 30 because 6 * 30 is 180 minutes, and obviously, this will affect the first part of the ratio too. 1 * 30 = 30. So that means the ratio is now 30:180. He will find 30 clovers in 180 minutes.

I hope you get it by now, but if you don't let me know. I'll help you answer the rest of the questions :)
