Answer:

Initiative versus Guilt,

Industry versus Inferiority

Explanation:

Initiative vs Guilt:

This is the third stage of Erik Erikson's theory of psychosocial development. During the initiative versus guilt stage, children takes more initiative in their activities, this helps to improve their interperosnal skills and understanding.

Hence, in the first paragraph, the child is taking initiative by trying to fix the broken vase by himself. However, since he realized he can not fix the broken vase, he chose to tell his parents what happened to the base, this is a way for him to avoid guilt, and punishment eventually.

Industry vs Inferiority:

In Erikson's fourth psychosocial crisis, involving industry (competence) vs. inferiority, this occurs during childhood where they begin to learn specific skills, and the source of their self-esteem tends to come from peer group.

Hence, in this episode, in the second paragraph, the child has a sense of acceptance from his peer group, after been complimented for his improved skills in soccer. Otherwise, he may feel inferior if his skills is not complimented by his peer group.

When a hypothesis formed using the scientific method continues to hold true when tested against facts over time, the hypothesis
MakcuM [25]

A hypothesis becomes a theory when it holds true over time when verified against facts and is created via the scientific method.

What is the hypothesis?

A hypothesis is a tested assertion about the relationship between two or more variables or a theory put up to explain an observed occurrence in a scientific environment. The hypothesis is a succinct statement of the researcher's expectation of the study's findings, which may or may not be confirmed by the results, in a scientific experiment or study. The scientific method's fundamental step is hypothesis testing.

It is customary to refer to the researcher's prediction as the alternative hypothesis and any other result as the null hypothesis, or, more simply put, the opposite of what was anticipated. (However, the phrases are flipped if the researchers are speculating that there won't be any difference or change, speculating, for instance, that the incidence of one variable won't increase or decrease in tandem with the other. The ability for a proposition to be shown to be incorrect, which certain schools of thought deem crucial to the scientific method, is met by the null hypothesis. Others, however, contend that testability is sufficient because it is not required to be able to imagine a scenario in which the hypothesis would be incorrect.

"I have heard [some people say] that America has [benefited] from her connection
Dmitriy789 [7]

Considering the above statement, the person that is most likely to be the author is Thomas Paine.

Thomas Paine is known as the Author of Common Sense in 1776 towards the American War of Revolution.

He was known for being a political activist who constantly challenged the supremacy of the British over the American colonies.

He claimed many times that America needs to be on its own and free from Great Britain.

Given that this excerpt challenges the advantages gained from Great Britain by North America, this reflects the continental mind of Thomas Paine.

Hence, in this case, it is concluded that the correct answer is Thomas Paine.
