Answer:

make equation = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

In first case your equation is factored so just = 0

(x+1)(2x-3) = 0

Product is zero if any factor is zero so (x+1) = 0, (2x-3) = 0

Solve for x: x= -1, x= 3/2

If  (x-8)^2 is given than you need to factor it first and then do the same as in first example.

(x-8)^2 = (x-8)(x-8)

(x-8)=0 , x=8

This is double zero.

Sodium chlorate crystals are easy to grow in the shape of cubes by allowing a solution of water and sodium chlorate to evaporate
vichka [17]

Answer:

V'(4) = 48 mm³/mm

V'(4) means that the rate of change of volume with respect to side when the length of the side is 4 mm

Step-by-step explanation:

Data provided in the question

V is the volume of the cube with x as its sides

Also,

Volume of cube = side³

thus,

V = x³ mm³

Now,

Derivative of volume with respect to side x,

\frac{\textup{dv}}{\textup{dx}}  = \frac{d(\textup{x}^3)}{\textup{dx}}

or

\frac{\textup{dv}}{\textup{dx}}  = V'(x) = 3x²

now,

at x = 4 mm

V'(4) = 3(4)²

or

V'(4) = 48 mm³/mm

Here, V'(4) means that the rate of change of volume with respect to side when the length of the side is 4 mm

Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer: $96.15

Step-by-step explanation:

If you study an extra 10 hours per week, for 52 weeks, in total you studied 52 times 10 hours, this is:

52*10 h = 520h hours.

Now, for these 520 hours of hard work, you earn a scholarship valued (in total) at $50,000.

Then how much is worth each one of these 520 hours?

Let's take divide the value of the scholarship evenly into the 520 hours:

$50,000/520h = $96.15.

This means that the hourly return is $96.15
