we know that

The centroid is the point where all three medians intersect and divides each median in a ratio of 2:1.  Is described as the triangle's center of gravity.

In this problem

C-Q, B-P and D-R ------> are medians

The point X is the centroid of the triangle BCD

so

BX=\frac{2}{3}BP

we have

BP=15\ cm

substitute

BX=\frac{2}{3}(15)=10\ cm

therefore

<u>the answer is</u>

BX=10\ cm

The answer is 10.

I PERSONALLY guessed it because it looks like BX is 10 and XP is 5 which is 15. (But I don't recommend always doing this because you might make a mistake when it comes to testing.)

HOWEVER: I confirmed it afterwards. The answer is still 10.

Recall the angle sum identities:

\sin(x+y)=\sin x\cos y+\cos x\sin y

\cos(x+y)=\cos x\cos y-\sin x\sin y

Now,

\tan(x+y)=\dfrac{\sin(x+y)}{\cos(x+y)}=\dfrac{\sin x\cos y+\cos x\sin y}{\cos x\cos y-\sin x\sin y}

Divide through numerator and denominator by \cos x\cos y to get

\tan(x+y)=\dfrac{\tan x+\tan y}{1-\tan x\tan y}

Next, we use the fact that x,y lie in the first quadrant to determine that

\sin x=\dfrac12\implies\cos x=\sqrt{1-\sin^2x}=\dfrac{\sqrt3}2

\cos y=\dfrac{\sqrt2}2\implies\sin x=\sqrt{1-\cos^2x}=\dfrac1{\sqrt2}

So we then have

\tan x=\dfrac{\sin x}{\cos x}=\dfrac{\frac12}{\frac{\sqrt3}2}=\dfrac1{\sqrt3}

\tan y=\dfrac{\sin y}{\cos y}=\dfrac{\frac1{\sqrt2}}{\frac{\sqrt2}2}=1

Finally,

\tan(x+y)=\dfrac{\frac1{\sqrt3}+1}{1-\frac1{\sqrt3}}=\dfrac{1+\sqrt3}{\sqrt3-1}=2+\sqrt3\approx3.73

what pattern do you observe regarding the number of lines of reflection through a regular polygon that will map the polygon onto
valina [46]

Answer: the number of sides of a regular polygon is the same as the number of lines of reflection that can map the polygon into itself. The number of lines of symmetry is the same as the number of lines of reflection for mapping. (this is word for word so i suggest rewording)
