4 0
Christopher is incorrect. The value 4 is a rational number because
4 = 4/1
We can write 4 as a ratio or fraction of whole numbers. So this is why it's rational.

Note: the denominator or value in the bottom cannot be 0

another note: any whole number or integer is a rational number because we can use the trick shown above. Simply place the value over 1
(other examples: 7 = 7/1, 22 = 22/1, etc)

Given a quadratic with one zero at 3 and a vertex at (-1,4), what is the other zero?
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

f (x) = a(x - h)2 + k, where (h, k) is the vertex of the parabola. FYI: Different textbooks have different interpretations of the reference "standard form" of a quadratic function. Some say f (x) = ax2 + bx + c is "standard form", while others say that f (x) = a(x - h)2 + k is "standard form".

Answer:  Approximately 21.667 km

This value as a fraction is 65/3, but I think the decimal form is probably more practical in real world settings.

======================================================

Work Shown:

20 min = 1/3 of an hour, since 20/60 = 1/3. In other words, there are three chunks of 20 minutes that make up a full hour.

distance = rate*time

distance = (65 kph)*(1/3 hr)

distance = (65*1/3) km

distance = (65/3) km

distance = 21.667 km which is approximate
