A boat travels for 7 hours. if it travels 4 hours downstream and 3 hours upstream. ten t covers a distance of 116 km. but if it

travels 3 hours downstream and 4 hours uptream, it covers the distance of 108 km. find the speed of the boat.

Speed = Distance / Time
Distance = Speed*Time

For this problem, we should bear in mind that current speed has an impact on the boat speed...

for upstream, the boat goes against the current, and so its speed is

U = V - C

where V is the speed of the boat
C is the current speed

for downstream, it will be:

D = V + C

Convert the problem into mathematical equations:

4D + 3U = 116
3D + 4U = 108

4(V+C) + 3(V-C) = 116
4V + 4C + 3V -3C =116
7V + C = 116

3(V+C) + 4(V-C) = 108
3V + 3C + 4V - 4C = 108
7V - C = 108

Solving the equations:

7V + C = 116
7V - C = 108

14V = 224
V = 16km/hr —-> speed of boat

to get C:
7(16) + C = 116
C = 4km/hr

If you had an individual who was gifted and talented in math, and well above the rest of your class, how might you use different
irakobra [83]

Answer:

See explanation below.

Step-by-step explanation:

Having students in the classroom who are at different levels of knowledge, interest, and ability can be managed by differentiated instruction. This method is a way of thinking that provides a framework where the instructor can set students with learning tasks that are at levels appropriate with the abilities and interests of each student. Each student can have a different type of class and different type of instruction with the differentiated instruction way of thinking.

A gifted and talented student might be assigned a higher math course, perhaps based on a math assessment for advanced placement. Then students that need to stay on the typical high school path of Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Trigonometry can do that.

Gifted students might take an alternate path with honors classes or trajectories involving Pre-Calculus or advanced placement Calculus, for example. In some instances, universities have allowed High School students to obtain college credit for some courses taken during High School.

Hope this helps! Have an Awesome Day!! :-)

AB ← → is tangent to circle O at point A. If m∠AOB = 55°, what is m∠ABO ?
AlladinOne [14]
A tangent forms a right angle with the centre of circle at the point it touches the circumference. i.e. OAB = 90 degrees
If AOB = 55 degrees, then ABO = 90 - 55 = 35 degrees

Amelia competed in a race in which she ran at a constant speed. A graph that represents the relationship between the number of s
Zolol [24]

Answer:

B (3, 13.5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Using point (0,0) and (15, 67.5) we can find the slope(gradient).

(y - y¹) / (x - x¹) = (67.5 - 0) / (15 - 0)

= 67.5 / 15 = 4.5

slope = 4.5

using the point given in option A (0, 4.5) with point (15, 67.5) to calculate the slope it gives 4.2 which is not equal to what we calculated.

using the option B (3, 13.5) with (15, 67.5) gives a slope of 4.5 which is equal to the slope of the line.
