Y=9/8x+7 is the equation for the graphed line

Slope intercept is y=mx+b with m as slope and b as y intercept. Since the line goes through the vertical line, the y-axis, at 0,7, the y intercept is 7.
y=mx+7
Slope is rise/run, so since you're going down 5 and to the right 8, your slope is -5/8. So, y=-(5/8)x+7 is your answer.

A rational function g is given below. Find all values of a for which g(a)=16. g(x)=(4)/(x+1)+(20)/(x^(2)+2x+1)
aliina [53]

Answer:

a = 2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

(4(x+1) + 20 )/(x+1) = 16

4x + 4 + 20 = 16x + 16

12x = 8

x = 2/3

Lily pads increase by 25% every 10 days.lf a pond starts with 22 lily pads,how many will there be after 50 days?
Fantom [35]

We conclude that after 50 days, there will be 67 lily pads.

how many will there be after 50 days?

We know that the number increases by 25% every 10 days.

In 50 days we have 5 groups of 10 days, so there will be five increases of 25%.

We know that the initial number is 22 lily pads, if we apply five consecutive increases of the 25% we get:

N = 22*(1 + 25%/100)*...*(1 + 25%/100%)

( the factor (1 + 25%/100%) appears five times)

So we can rewrite:

N = 22*(1 + 25%/100%)⁵

N = 22*(1 + 0.25)⁵ = 67.1

Which can be rounded to the nearest whole number, which is 67.

So we conclude that after 50 days, there will be 67 lily pads.

If Ashley is in the 85th percentile and the mean of her test scores is 180 with a standard deviation of 15, which of the followi
ioda
B would be the most appropriate response for this. We don't need to worry about Ashley being in the 85th percentile, that is just extra information they have provided us. What we need to look at is her mean test score is 180, so that is the average score she normally gets on her tests, but then they say she has a standard deviation of 15 which means her scores are normally no lower than 165 and no higher than 195 because she normally doesn't deviate or change her score more than 15 points for her normal 180. So if you take 180 minus 15 you get 165 and if you take 180 plus 15 you get 195, therefore we can determine that the most appropriate answer would be between 165 and 195. The only option that fits in this category is B 185
