When you see the fraction 33/16, you realize that 33 divided by 16 is 2 remainder 1, so you add the 2 to the original 6, then put the remainder 1 on top of 16 ,which gives you 8 1/16

Here is a rectangle which has a width of x cm. x cm
miskamm [114]

Answer:

278.25 cm2

Step-by-step explanation:

If the width of the rectangle is x (cm), as the length is 8cm longer, so that the length of the rectangle is: x + 8 (cm).

In the attached image, we can see the length of each side. Total length of the sides are 90 cm.

=> (x + x + 8) + x + 8 + (x+8) + (x + x + 8) + x + 8 + (x +8) = 90

=> 8x + 48 = 90

=> 8x = 90 - 48 = 42

=> x =42/8 = 5.25 (cm)

=> The width of the rectangle is 5.25cm

=> The length of the rectangle is: 5.25 + 8 = 13.25 cm

=> The area of one rectangle is: Length x Width = 5.25 x 13.25 = 69.5625 cm2

As the 8-sided shape is made from 4 rectangles, so that:

Area of 8 sided shape = 4 x Area of the rectangle = 4 x 69.5625 = 278.25 cm2

Which solid has a greater volume?
Lady_Fox [76]

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

The volume of a cone is given by  V=\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2h

The volume of a cylinder is given by  V=\pi r^2 h

<em>Where h is the height and r is the radius</em>

The first figure is a cone with height 6 and radius 5, we can put it into the formula and find the volume:

\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2 h\\\frac{1}{3}\pi (5)^2 (6)\\=157.08

The second figure is a cylinder with height 50 and radius 1, we can put it into the formula and find the volume:

\pi r^2 h\\\pi (1)^2 (50)\\=157.08

We can see that they are equal. So answer choice C is right.

Give the values of a, b, and c needed to write the equation's standard form.(5 + x)(5 - x) = 7A = 1; B = 0; C = -18A = 25; B = 0
Maksim231197 [3]
We need to FOIL that out and then get it into standard form to see what our A, B, and C are.  FOILing gives us 25-x^2=7.  If we move the 7 over by subtraction and set it equal to 0, we have -x^2+18=y.  In order to avoid a negative leading coefficient, we can change all the signs to get x^2-0x-18=0 so A = 1, B = 0, C = -18, first choice above.
