The common difference can be found from
d=\dfrac{a_{17}-a_{7}}{17-7}=\dfrac{81-41}{17-7}=\dfrac{40}{10}=4
The first term of the sequence can be found from either of the given terms.
a_{7}=41=a_{1}+(7-1)d=a_{1}+24\\a_{1}=41-24=17

The sum of 40 terms is
S_{40}=\dfrac{40}{2}(a_{1}+a_{40})=20(17+(17+39\cdot 4)=20\cdot 190=3800

The sum of the first 40 terms is 3800.

Describe the transformation of f(x) to g(x). Pleaseee helllp thank youuuu!!!
olasank [31]

The transformation set of y values for function f is [-1,1] this is an interval to which sine function maps.

You can observe that the interval to which g function maps equals to [-2,0].

So let us take a look at the possible options.

Option A states that shifting f up by \pi/2 would result in g having an interval [-1,1]+\frac{\pi}{2}\approx[0.57,2.57] which is clearly not true that means A is false.

Let's try option B. Shifting f down by 1 to get g would mean that has a transformation interval of [-1,1]-1=[-2,0]. This seems to fit our observation and it is correct.

So the answer would be B. If we shift f down by one we get g, which means that f(x)=\sin(x) and g(x)=f(x)-1=\sin(x)-1.

Hope this helps :)

What are the solutions of the equation 9x4 – 2x2 – 7 = 0? Use u substitution to solve.x = + √7/9 and x = ±1 x = + √7/9 and x = ±
snow_tiger [21]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

9x⁴ – 2x² – 7 = 0

Let's say that u = x²:

9u² – 2u – 7 = 0

Factor:

(u – 1) (9u + 7) = 0

u = 1, -7/9

Since u = x²:

x² = 1, -7/9

x = ±1, ±i √(7/9)
