Cedric and Josh both ordered the same size pizzas at Marco’s Pizzeria; however, they ordered different toppings. Marco’s charges

an additional fee for toppings, but all toppings cost the same. Cedric got pepperoni, banana peppers, and black olives on his pizza for a cost of $15.74. Josh ordered mushrooms and eggplant on his pizza and paid $14.49. Using this information, write an equation for the cost of a pizza, C, as a function of the number of toppings, t ordered.

Let
C---------> <span>the cost of a pizza
</span>t----------> <span>number of toppings

we know that
</span>$15.74-3t=$14.49-2t
15.74-14.49=3t-2t-------------> t=1.25

the cost of one topping is $1.25
and the cost of one pizza <span>without topping is
</span>15.74-3*1.25--------> $11.99

then
<span>an equation for the cost of a pizza, C, as a function of the number of toppings, t ordered is
</span>C=11.99+1.25t

the answer is
C=11.99+1.25t

Answer:

f(c)=1.25x+11.99

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number of toppings

Let c be the cost of pizza

Cedric got pepperoni, banana peppers, and black olives on his pizza for a cost of $15.74.

Josh ordered mushrooms and eggplant on his pizza and paid $14.49.

As the toppings has the same cost, we can equate the equations:

15.74-3x=14.49-2x

3x-2x=15.74-14.49

x = $1.25

Thus each topping costs $1.25.

And cost of any pizza without topping = 14.49-2(1.25)=11.99 dollars

So, the function becomes in terms of c ;

f(c)=1.25x+11.99

The base price of pizza is $11.99 and it will increase as the toppings increase.

Svetllana [295]

Answer:

1/2*6(12+x)=12*x

1/2*(72+6)=12x

36+3x=12x

36=9x

4=x

Step-by-step explanation:

Check that x=4

1/2*6(4+12)=12*4

1/2*(24+72)=48

1/2(96)=48

48=48

So x=4 is the correct answer

Answer:

  • slant height: 6 units
  • lateral area: 108 square units

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given</u>

A right regular hexagonal pyramid with ...

  • base side length 6 units
  • base apothem 3√3 units
  • height 3 units

<u>Find</u>

  • lateral face slant height
  • pyramid lateral surface area

<u>Solution</u>

a) The apothem (a) and height (b) of the pyramid are two legs of the right triangle having the slant height as its hypotenuse (c). The Pythagorean theorem tells us the relationship is ...

  c = √(a² +b²) = √((3√3)² +3²) = √(27+9) = √36

  c = 6

The slant height of the pyramid is 6 units.

__

b) The lateral surface area of the pyramid is the area of each triangular face, multiplied by the number of faces. The area of one face will be ...

  A = (1/2)bh = (1/2)(6 units)(6 units) = 18 units²

Then the lateral surface area is 6 times this value:

  SA = 6(18 units²) = 108 units²

The lateral surface area of the pyramid is 108 square units.

Answer:

theta  =36.45268177

Step-by-step explanation:

Since this is a right triangle, we can use trig functions

cos theta = adj/ hyp

cos theta = 74/92

Taking the inverse cos of each side

cos^-1 ( cos theta) = cos^-1 (74/92)

theta  =36.45268177
