\sqrt{3y} +4-4=5-4 (subtract 4 from both sides to isolate \sqrt{3y}
( \sqrt{3y})^{2}  = (1)^{2} (square both sides to get rid of square root on left side
3y/3=1/3 (divide both sides by 3 to isolate y)
y= \frac{1}{3}
