Make a hypothesis about what would happen if you placed an onion cell into a strong salt solution. Please explain.
3241004551 [841]
When you put the cells in a salt solution you are placing the cells into a hypertonic solution. That means the solute concentration outside the cell is higher than the solute concentration inside the cell. You should know from your own studies that water will move from areas of high water concentration to areas of low water concentration. A hight solute concentration means there is low water concentration. That means that the water will move from the onion cell and out into the hypertonic solution and the onion cell will shrivel up.

Answer:

Chapter 8: Nick is dedicated to telling the story of what happened to Daisy after Gatsby went to war.

Explanation:

When Gatsby went to war, Daisy enjoyed and went out into the world. Nick uses a musical metaphor to describe Daisy's behavior. This musical metaphor refers to jazz, in the era where this type of music conveyed the sadness of life. In this way, Nick describes that Daisy enjoyed the millionaire society along with popular jazz music that lifted her spirits, for Gatsby's departure.
