Basically, because of the first part of your question, it takes 9 minutes for one person to paint a quarter of a wall. This means that it would take 36 minutes for one person to paint an entire wall. It also means that it would take 6 minutes for one person to paint 1/6 of a wall.

If there are 4 walls to paint, and 6 people around to paint them, each person would get 4/6 of a wall to paint. This means that it would take 24 minutes for these 6 people, working together, to paint 4 walls. 4 x 6 minutes (because they'd each be painting 4 x 1/6 of a wall) = 24 minutes.

It takes 45 * 4 = 180 people-minutes to paint 5 walls.
Therefore to paint 4 walls it will take:
\frac{180\times4}{5}=144\ people-minutes
The time needed for 6 people to paint 4 walls is given by 144/6 = 24 minutes.

Which best describes the relationship between the successive terms in the sequence shown?
Karolina [17]
To get from 2.4 to -4.8 would be to multiply by -2.
2.4  -4.8  9.6  -19.2
     v      v      v
    *-2   *-2   *-2
Each number is multiplied by -2 to get to the next. So the relationship between the successive terms in the sequence shown is the multiplication of -2.

would some one understand me please and helps me with this one I have been try to solve it for a week.
Arte-miy333 [17]

Answer:

The value of x in all the cases is $ \frac{22}{4} $.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equation is:

$ 4x + 10 = 32 $

a. Add 4 on both the sides. The equation becomes $ 4x + 14 = 36 $

The operation of addition (or subtraction) done on both the sides of the equation will not alter the value. They will still be equal. However, adding a non - zero term to only one side of the equation will result in the equation becoming unequal.

b. Equivalent Equations are those equations which have the same roots or solutions. Note that, the equations $ 4x + 10 = 32 $ and  $ 4x + 14 = 36 $ have the same solution. Then these equations can be named 'equivalent equations'.

c. Subtraction:

Subtract any number from both the sides of the equation, say, 5.

$ \implies 4x + 5 = 27 $. The solution is still not altered.

Multiplication:

Multiply through by 2. We get: $ 8x + 20 = 64 $. The value of x is still the same.

Division:

Divide through out by -2. The solution is unaltered.

Note that operations of Multiplication and Division are to be done by non -zero numbers. Otherwise it would be altered.

Which of the following describes an example of mutually exclusive outcomes A and B for throwing a single 6-sided

Answer:
A=the outcome is odd, B=the outcome is even
Is mutually exclusive because you can't have a number that is even and odd at the same time.
Hope this helps :)
